Sarvar Sadullayevich Otamuratov, the candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from the Uzbekistan «Milliy tiklanish» (National Revival) Democratic Party, was born in 1973 in Tashkent. He is of Uzbek nationality. He holds a higher education degree; he graduated from the sociology department of the Philosophy-Economics Faculty of Tashkent State University, the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Academy of State and Social Construction under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He is a Candidate of Sociological Sciences.
From 1995 to 2006, he worked at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Currency-Economic Main Department as a leading economist, chief economist, deputy head of department, deputy head of the directorate, and head of the directorate. From 2006 to 2009, he worked in managerial positions in insurance companies.
In 2009 and 2014, he was elected as a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From 2010 to 2014, he served as Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In 2013, Sarvar Otamuratov was elected Chairman of the Central Council of the Uzbekistan «Milliy tiklanish» Democratic Party.
Under his direct leadership, the party's personnel composition was strengthened, the activities of regional party organizations in working with the population were improved, and the activities of party groups in local Councils of People's Deputies to implement the goals and tasks of the Uzbekistan «Milliy tiklanish» Democratic Party locally were strengthened.
Since 2015, he has simultaneously served as Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and leader of the Uzbekistan «Milliy tiklanish» Democratic Party faction.
In the position of faction leader, he organized systematic work for deputies to develop draft laws aimed at reforming the social and information spheres, and to carry out effective parliamentary oversight at the central and local levels.
A number of brochures, educational-methodological manuals, and articles by Sarvar Otamuratov have been published, dedicated to strengthening self-awareness in the conditions of globalization, forming an active civic position in citizens, especially among youth, studying public opinion, and other urgent topics.
He is married and has two children.
